BIOGRAPHY
Alexander Vivero, conductor, composer, and pianist, was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, on September 30, 2008. He began piano studies at four, and soon after he explored musical composition at five. Later, he started orchestral conducting at ten. His native language is Spanish, yet he also speaks English, Italian, French, and German. This multilingual ability significantly enriches his musical communication and broadens his global connections.
He joined the Sociedad de Autores y Compositores de México at twelve. Since then, he has steadily expanded his catalog to more than forty-five original works. Additionally, he has gained recognition in various competitions. For example, he won Grand Prize Virtuoso in Bonn, Germany. He also earned distinction in the American Protégé Music Competition in New York. Moreover, he received acknowledgment in the Royal Sound Composition Competition in Montreal, Canada. In Mexico, he achieved awards in Cedros UP and Manuel de Elías in Guanajuato. Consequently, each accomplishment strengthened his artistic identity and fueled his professional development.
He has performed as a soloist on major stages in Mexico and abroad. For instance, he appeared in the Main Hall of the Teatro Degollado and its Chamber Hall. He also performed at the Conjunto Santander de Artes Escénicas, the Goethe-Institut Mexiko, and El Cantoral. Furthermore, he played in the Sala Manuel M. Ponce at the Palacio de Bellas Artes and the Sala Blas Galindo at CENART. Internationally, he participated in The NAMM Show in Anaheim, California. Additionally, he performed at Carnegie Hall, New York, marking an especially significant milestone in his career.
He debuted as an orchestra conductor in August 2022. Since then, he has directed various ensembles. Among them are the ECOS Blas Galindo Orchestra, the Lomas del Paraíso Symphony Orchestra, and the Jóvenes Solistas de Jalisco Orchestra. He also conducted the Zapopan Chamber Orchestra and the Zapopan Youth Symphony Orchestra. Moreover, he worked with the Higinio Ruvalcaba Chamber Orchestra, Solistas de América, and the Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra. As a result, these collaborations deepened his artistic maturity and expanded his professional reach.
As a pianist, he participated in the Jóvenes en la Música cycle of INBAL. He also performed at the 52nd International Cervantino Festival. Additionally, he appeared at the “En Blanco y Negro” International Piano Festival at CENART, the Mozart Festival 2025 at the Autonomous University of Querétaro and at the Juárez Theatre in Guanajuato, serving as piano accompanist to the countertenor Iván López Reynoso. Furthermore, he collaborated in chamber music with Angélica Olivo, Jennifer Stumm, and Nancy Zhou, which enriched his interpretive approach and broadened his artistic vision.
He has taken master classes with acclaimed pianists and conductors. His mentors include Jorge Federico Osorio, Guadalupe Parrondo, and Rodolfo Ritter. He also studied with Leticia Gómez Tagle, Noelia Rodiles, and David Fung. Additionally, he worked with Oliver Díaz and Salvatore Caputo, which strengthened his insight into orchestral leadership.
He currently studies at the School of Fine Arts at Universidad Panamericana. He trains in orchestral conducting with Iván López Reynoso and Gonzalo Romeu. He studies composition with Dr. Francisco Cortés Álvarez. Additionally, he receives piano instruction from Joel N. Juan Qui and Santiago Piñeirúa. Altogether, these academic foundations support his artistic direction and prepare him for future international projects.
